Manage Identity Providers

This guide explains how to view, update, and delete identity providers from the ThunderID Console.

Prerequisites

• ThunderID is running. See Get Started.
• You can sign in to the ThunderID Console.

View Identity Providers

1. Sign in to the ThunderID Console.
2. Navigate to Connections. Each configured identity provider appears as a card, showing Configured, Not configured, or Coming soon.
3. Use the Social Login or Enterprise category filters to narrow the list to identity providers.
4. Click a card to open the connection's detail page.

On the detail page, the General tab's Quick copy section shows the Connection ID, an identifier you can copy for use in your integration.

Update an Identity Provider

1. Open the connection from the Connections page.
2. On the General tab, edit the fields under Credentials.
3. Stored secrets, such as Client secret, are write-only: the field stays locked until you click Update. Leave it unchanged to keep the stored secret.
4. Click Save changes in the bar at the bottom of the page. You can click Discard instead to abandon your edits.

Only custom OIDC and OAuth 2.0 connections have an editable Connection name. Google, GitHub, and other branded connections keep the vendor's name.

Changes take effect immediately for new authentication requests.

Delete an Identity Provider

1. Open the connection from the Connections page.
2. On the General tab, go to Danger zone and click Delete connection.
3. Confirm the deletion in the dialog.

If an authentication flow or another resource still references this identity provider, the dialog lists the resources and blocks the deletion until you remove or update them, for example, the flow node that uses this connection.

note

Identity providers created through declarative configuration are read-only. Deleting one fails even when no other resource references it.
